- I'm currently using a 14,400 with my Laser XT clone and having
- no problems. Binary downloads with Zmodem do about 1600 cps and
- ascii downloads about 1800. I download most of the newsgroup
- postings that I choose to read, to a log file and get about 1600
- cps. This is while the comm program is writing to the screen
- and to a 32k scrollback buffer. I thought I was getting about
- half that but I recently downloaded the winemaking faq as a test,
- its a little over 82k, and it took just 52 seconds. Set your
- DTE speed to 19,200, though, and not any higher.
-
- My internal modem is a no-name that I picked up at a computer show.
